| Bill and Jacque Rigg
| William Clifton Rigg was the only son of Frank Clifton Rigg and Maude Rigg. He was born on March 19, 1924. He was an only child with the exception of a young girl named Ruby who was raised by Clif and Maude although they never were allowed to adopt her. Born seventeen years after his parents married Bill only had his father in his life for a short 9 years, when Clif died suddenly on May 23, 1934. Bill was born and raised in Perry, Oklahoma. He graduated from Perry High School in 1941. After graduating from Northern Oklahoma Junior College, Bill entered the U.S. Army Air Corp in February 1943. He married Jacque Walton on September 11, 1943 in Carmel, California. Bill achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant and flew 30 missions with the 8th Air Force in England. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with 4 Oakleaf Clusters. After leaving the service in August 1945, Bill returned to college at Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Oklahoma. During his studies there, Melvin Rigg, Bill's oldest cousin was teaching Psychology at OSU. They became acquainted and spent time together although Bill didn't have him for a teacher. Bill graduated Phi Kappa Phi in 1947. Bill and Jacque were blessed with three children, Bill Jr., Emily and Susan. Bill worked for the Phillips Company for 38 years. During his time with Phillips, they moved a great deal but they started his employment in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and retired there. Bill is an avid golfer. He has many interests including: yard landscaping, fly fishing, and also is affiliated with a financial investment group. |
