Frank Clifton Rigg

Frank

My uncle, Frank Clifton Rigg, was born in Leon, Kansas on January 23, 1912 to Lauren Dale Rigg and Leola Pearl Palmer Rigg. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Leon. After attending school in Logan Township, he finished his education in the Leon School system. Frank graduated from Leon High School in 1929. Frank contined his education at El Dorado Junior College for one year. He became interested in Dairy farming and that became his lifelong profession. A profession, I might add, that he continued to pursue until the age of 82. Along the way, he met and married Margaret Gray. They were married on October 11, 1936 near Leon, Kansas. Margaret and Frank made thier home in Leon, Kansas where a city park now is located. They had no children. Margaret died on August 15, 1949 and is buried at the Leon Cemetery. Frank continued to farm in the Leon area along with his father on the Rigg Farm south and west of Leon. L.D. Rigg and Son's were known throughout the state and Midwest for their Dairy farm and their high quality Jersey cattle. Frank still lives on the Rigg farm and has been the patriarch of our family for many years. Frank taught a Sunday School class for 50 years. Frank also enjoyed hunting and fishing over the years with many relatives and friends.
