John Luttrell Rigg was born on December 6, 1907 to Perry D. Rigg and Euphema Luttrell Rigg. He was their first born and only son. John was born in Lafayette County, Missouri. He grew up in Leon, Kansas where he attended school and church. John eventually found work in the oil fields of Kansas and married Helen Whitney in Anthony, Kansas. They began their married life residing in Hutchinson, Kansas where John was affiliated with the Noble Drilling Company. They moved three times due to John's work and ended up in Stafford, Kansas. Helen died in August of 1973. John later married Georgia Whitlock. John has no children.
