Nancy Rigg was born on December 3, 1871 to Thomas Townley Rigg and Miranda Gambrel Rigg. She was their first daughter. Born in Wabash County, Illinois, she died either at birth or shortly after. I obtained this information from a photocopy of Thomas and Miranda's bible included in the estate of my grandfather, Lauren Dale Rigg. His nephew, Melvin Gillison Rigg Jr. had possession of this bible which has since been passed on to his son Arthur Rigg. It would be seven births and 15 years later before Thomas and Miranda would again have another daughter, Dorothy Rigg Powell. Of course there are no pictures of Nancy but I wanted her included in these pages because she did exist and was named and was loved.
